Taodyn's Garrison guide, from the good ol' Shirt Ninjas on Phoenix. Excellent guide, although a few points on spawns are a trifle inaccurate.
I have a few more points, based on experiences with the Pride.
First: Hired guns will NOT be in a party leader position at ANY time
Second: it's a lot easier to run a 12-player garrison and rotate in/out players as the event goes on than to tackle it with 14 people.
Third: NO JOB will be barred, as long as we have a kite and 3 healers.
Fourth: the level 30 garrisons are MUCH easier and more profitable than the 20s
Fifth: People need to be reasonably well-prepared.
•Gear that's appropriate to the cap (if you need 30 gear, I have full sets for most jobs, and am happy to loan out anything that's not actually protecting my fuzzy butt)
•Some kind of appropriate food. 'Shrooms or pies for mages, and a few drinks, meat or sushi and a few potions for DD's. It's not promyvion, but every NPC we lose hurts your wallet more than grabbing some decent food.
Sixth: remember, there's a 30-minute gap etween fights. If you need to get something, change gear, even swap out jobs, do so as soon as the lotting and raising is over - not 30 seconds before the next pop time.
And finally, we need to decide how to distribute the drops.
My personal favorite method of distribution is a hybrid lotting system. Essentially, the item trader gets first pick of all the equipment dropped in the garrison. After that, if there are equipment items left, and another trader lost his/her run, they get second pick.
Exp scrolls are free to lot UNLESS someone dies, at which point they get first crack and the rest are free-range.
Mannequin bits are free-range.
All of the remaining equipment is lotted on and taken to be sold by the run leader or someone with a lot of mules (lol). I'll keep track of what drops, and once it's sold the cash is divided evenly according to a system of shares.
Anyone who wants an item that dropped in the garrison can feel free to contact the run leader and purchase the item at 5% off the AH price (to reflect the fact that we won't have to pay tax) at which point that money hits the treasure pool as well.
Questions/ comments?
